A Handle on Ergonomics
RAPID 18V-System
The “Power For All Alliance” is an agreement between the world's leading brands on an 18 volt battery for cordless DIY. The electric product family of Rapid now includes an electric hot air gun, glue gun, nailer and stapler. In the corporate product design, we integrate the lightweight and compact battery into the brand's own design language. Each successful handle thus contributes to a positive brand perception.
Our Strategy
The 18V power tools are intended in particular for DIY work in private households and are therefore used by many different hands. For the design of the product family, we abandoned the concept of an expert user who operates the tool in an ideal working situation and performs their task perfectly. Instead, we narrowed the many user groups and use cases down to a common ground.

Home tools carry a certain risk of injury in their function. By emphasizing grip and positioning elements and the deliberate use of shape and material, we avoid incorrect operation. When the application concept and product ergonomics match, the tool is convincing in practice - and is recommended to others.
