You'll build our sales and marketing function from the ground up – strategically conceived, hands-on executed.

What this is about
Sales and marketing have been side activities at UP – spread between management and team leads, picked up whenever there was time. We want to turn this into a dedicated function, and we're looking for the person who'll build and lead it.
That means: greenfield. There's an established brand, a well-oiled team of around 25 designers and developers, long-standing client relationships, and a portfolio that could be far more visible in the market. There's no CRM, no managed pipeline, no strategically directed marketing, no sharpened positioning.
This role suits people who enjoy building. You shape strategy and, with support from the team, run the first concrete activities yourself. Over time you'll lead your own team – operational work is part of the job for you.
About UP Designstudio
We are UP Designstudio – an interdisciplinary studio of designers and developers based in Stuttgart. For years we've been helping mid-sized companies make complex products easier to understand, easier to use, and easier to bring to market – through product design, animation and interaction design, graphic design, and frontend development. Our clients come predominantly from mechanical engineering, medical technology and rehabilitation, and the toy industry – sectors where design quality makes a real, non-interchangeable difference.
Your responsibilities
In the first months:

Take stock of what's there: existing client relationships, inquiries, materials, channels.

Select and roll out a lean CRM and sales setup that fits the studio's size and way of working.

Run the first concrete outbound activities: identify target groups, reach out, set up meetings.

Sharpen our positioning together with management and team leads.

Structure proposals and the first sales processes.
Over time:

Own the sales strategy and marketing roadmap.

Lead website, content, social media, and lead channels conceptually – with support from other parts of the studio.

Key account management for strategic clients.
-
Build a small team for sales and marketing.
-
Set up reporting and data-driven decision-making.
What you bring
Experience
-
5+ years in B2B sales for services that require explanation – ideally from an agency, design studio, product development firm, or comparable consultancy.

You've built a sales or marketing setup from scratch before, not just maintained one.

Experience in key account management with decision-makers from industry and mid-sized companies.

Confident handling of CRM systems and data-driven work.

Solid grasp of modern marketing and positioning work.
